Alexis Ren X ColourPop Review and Swatches!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!!! Recently I made a couple purchases from Alexis’ ColourPop collaboration.  It took a little over a week to process my order, but i think it’s because the line is in such high demand.  However, it only took a few days to ship.  I purchased the Blotted Lip in Deja VU and the Bronzer/Highlight Duo in Topaz.  The highlight is in She’s Here to Stay and the bronzer is Golden Moment.  The duo is currently out of stock but the lip is still available!

The packaging is really nice.  I wasn’t expecting to get as much product as I did for such a great price.  The powder also comes with a really big mirror.  The lip is very sheer and worn in looking.  It’s perfect for everyday and the formula is soooo buttery.  I think it’ll look good on most skin tones.  I’m very pale and it’s a nice pop of color, it’ll probably look a little more natural on darker skin tones.

The bronzer is a nice milk chocolate brown and isn’t orangey.  If you’re super pale, this might be a little too dark.  If you’re fair like me, just use a light hand.  The highlight is beautiful but def too dark for me at the moment.  However, it can double as an awesome eyeshadow and I’m eager to use it in the summer once I get a nice tan.  The formula is very soft and powdery so just be wary of fall out.

I’ve provided a link to a video of a full review of the whole line.  Overall, I’m so impressed.  The products are amazing and at a very affordable price.  Way to go Lexi :)

Alexis Ren Workout Clothes

Alexis always looks super cute when she’s at the gym, but remember that comfort is the first priority:) If you’re going to splurge on anything, make it a good pair of sneakers.  Alexis wears Nike.  Also, make sure you get the right shoes whether it’s for training, running, etc.

I get all of my workout clothes at Old Navy.  It’s super inexpensive and the clothes hold up.  Alexis tends to wear neutrals, so white or black.   Get a range of clothes, not just one thing (leggings, cropped leggings, spandex).  Alexis tends to wear minimal clothing, which isn’t always ideal if you go to a gym with a lot of people.  So I would wear a loose fitting, cotton tank top in neutral colors and tie it in the front so it’s kind of cropped.

Forever21 has some really cute workout clothes.  Idk about the quality however.  The leggings are probably fine for doing whatever, but I would save the sports bras for low impact sports, like yoga or maybe even weights.  I’ll link some of favorite Alexis-inspired clothes below:

Also, check out the sales section of places like Nike, Adidas, Lululemon, etc.  You could get a really cute piece for cheap.  Also, if you have one near you, Nike outlet is amazing.

At the end of your workout, throw on a cute sweatshirt to stay warm.

Have fun working out babes, remember to love your body because it’s perfect just the way it is:)

Alexis Ren Casual Summer Outfits

Below are some links to some less expensive stores that have Alexis inspired clothes.

Forever 21 (kinda have to dig through things but you can find basic/staple pieces for super cheap)
Brandy Melville (I think they lowered a lot of their prices which is awesome.  Great staple/basic pieces)
Urban Outfitters (I think they’re pretty expensive but it’s good to splurge once in awhile ;) )
Aerie (cheap bralettes and layering pieces)
Where To Get It (people post where they found Alexis’ exact clothing items and look-alikes)

Boyfriend Jeans  (cuff them for a more casual look)
Tank (tie a knot in the front to crop it)
Sneaks (I searched for cheaper ones but they were only about $10 less.  White Converse, Keds, Vans, etc. would look cute too!)
Total outfit price: $113.80

Cropped White Tee (cut the bottom off to reach desired length, wash and stretch bottom to get the worn in look Alexis’ shirt has)
Shorts (or go thrifting!)
Necklace (see my Lili Claspe Dupes post)
Total outfit price: $38.90

Total outfit price: $85.89
Hat (pretty sure this is the exact hat!)

I think the best thing about Alexis’ style is that it’s pretty basic so you can mix-and-match all of these outfits and really expand/get the most out of your wardrobe.  Like I would wear this top and bottom together or these two! The options are pretty endless.  Thinking of the next post being night out looks, let me know what you think!

How to Get Alexis' Lashes

Alexis probably has the most perfect, natural lashes I’ve ever seen, but getting them is super easy!
lexi eyelashes.jpglexi lashes 2.jpg
Step One: Curl lashes.  This is especially important if you have shorter lashes that grow outwards instead of upwards.  Alexis uses a Tarte eyelash curler but you can get them cheap at any drugstore. My tip is to look downwards into a mirror when I curl them.  Gets a better grip/curl that way.

Step Two: Make sure your lashes are evenly spread out.  You can use your finger or I use a spoolie to brush them out.

Step Three: Tightline your eyes.  Basically this means lining your upper waterline with eyeliner (I prefer black).  It sounds scary but it just kind of tickles. The result is a thick-looking lashline.  Here’s a video to demonstrate (x). She used a liquid liner but i use pencil.

Step Four: Coat with mascara.  Alexis uses Covergirl Lash Blast.  Personally I love the Ulta Super Stretch Fiber Mascara (no longer available online but I’ve seen it in stores recently.  Maybelline Mega Plush is a good dupe for this, just a couple dollars more expensive).  It makes my lashes nice and black and soft looking.  It doesn’t clump or get crunchy as the day goes on.  I wiggle the wand from the bases of my lashes and upwards.  I let the first coat dry and then I take the tip of the mascara wand and just coat the ends of my lashes.  It gives them so much extra length.  Last, I take the Cover Girl Lashblast Volume and wiggle it over the bases of my lashes to make them look extra thick.

Lili Claspe Dupes

Lili Claspe is so beautiful but can be expensive.  If you really want a LC piece, shop their clearance! It’s discounted and has a great selection.

If that’s still too expensive, I’ve found some great options on Etsy!  Jenny and Jude is a great LA based company with a lot of dainty pieces I could see Alexis wearing.  Most pieces come in gold, rose gold, or sterling silver.  Standard shipping was about $4.00 in the US.  They ship worldwide.

This is a great layering piece

I recently purchased the Tiny White Bone Double Horn Necklace from Jenny and Jude.  It took about three days for the order to process.  I received a note from Jenny when the package sent with a tracking number.  She was super sweet and gave me a discount code for my next purchase.  It took about five days for the package to get to me.  The package came with a handwritten note and the necklace is perfect. Highly, highly recommend this company.

For Good & Mad has beautiful body chains at reasonable prices.  I checked the reviews and they were all great.

LayeredAndLong is a really great shop for dainty, layering pieces.  Super customizable so you can get exactly the piece you want at a fair price.  Engraved options are available.  Ex: The lariat below is customizable material, length, and pendant.  Every piece is handmade especially for you!

I recommend just going on Etsy and searching for what you’re looking for!  If you make an acount it recommends products based on what you’ve liked/searched for.

Brandy Melville has a lot of great, super cheap options.  The shipping can be kind of expensive and sometimes their jewelry breaks or tarnishes (the metals change colors), but for a really cheap option it’s pretty damn good.

If you would like me to find a specific piece that I didn’t cover here, send me a message or an ask!
